Dear Friends and all well wishers of Rainbow House of Hope Uganda,

I once again bring to you our seasonal greetings. It’s this special time of the year when we think back on all the happiest moments of Rainbow House, you have been part of the people that brought it despite these times when the world is crying. We say THANK YOU and briefly share some of our achievements.

This year, our focus was on sensitizing and implementing our traditional activities such as sports, education, theatre, vocational skills etc. in our new communities and also ensuring that the master plan development process that started some three years back concludes.

In our ongoing efforts of empowering young people and impacting their lives through skilling, we have engaged community schools and encouraged them to take advantage of our established facilities such as the tailoring and ICT centers to skill the pupils. I am happy to report that the schools have enrolled their pupils for tailoring and ICT skills training at the center.

We strongly believe that this kind of strategy and partnership will change the mindset of the young people towards vocational skills.

In health we have engaged schools to promote oral hygiene and reproductive issues through Wash and Smile project and Sanitary pads and pants provision supported by MIA and Onduwa .

We have and continue creating a safer environment and space for our trainees to acquire vocational skills, the organization started to pilot an Early Childhood Development program for children ages 3-6 at the center.    20 children have been enrolled and it received some playing and learning materials with support from MIA foundation.

The organization has continued to engage the community and schools in the climate change campaign and this program has been supported by Towanika.

Next year, our efforts and focus will be on fundraising campaigns to raise funds to facilitate the implementation of the master plan in phases. This is a big task ahead of us and it’s my humble request that whoever has any  ideas, to share it so that we can realize our dream.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all. On behalf of the Team here.

Sincerely yours

Micheal Mwase
